This Privacy Policy explains how md→docx ("we", "us"), operated at formatyourdesigndoc.com, handles your information when you use our Markdown-to-Word (.docx) conversion service (the "Service").

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture, and a stable Google account identifier. We never receive or store your Google password.
• Your content. The Markdown you convert and the resulting .docx file are stored privately, tied to your account, so you can access your conversion history. We do not make your content public.
• Usage & subscription data. A count of your exports and your plan (free or premium).
• Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; we retain only a Stripe customer and subscription identifier.
• Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) used for security and operating the Service.
• Cookies. A single essential, HTTP-only session cookie keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. Any analytics are privacy-oriented and used only to understand aggregate usage.

How we use your information

• To provide the Service and generate your documents.
• To maintain your private conversion history.
• To process subscriptions and payments.
• To secure, monitor, and operate the Service.
• To communicate with you about your account or the Service.

Service providers we share with

We use trusted third parties to run the Service, and we do not sell your personal data:

• Google — sign-in (OAuth).
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Google Cloud (Cloud Run & Cloud Storage) — hosting and file storage.
• Supabase — database for account and document metadata.
• Cloudflare — DNS.

Data storage & security

Files are stored in Google Cloud Storage and metadata in a Supabase Postgres database. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our providers. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, though no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Data retention

We retain your account and documents for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see below), after which we remove your documents and account records, subject to limited retention required for legal or accounting purposes.

Your rights

Depending on your location (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@formatyourdesigndoc.com.

International users

The Service is operated from, and your data is processed in, the United States.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
